Description
A premium knife is only as good as its edge. But when that blade eventually dulls after weeks of heavy-duty prep, you face a choice: spend months trying to master the muscle memory of a whetstone, or drag your steel through a cheap £10 pull-through scraper and permanently ruin the blade. The Tormek T-1 bridges that gap entirely.
Engineered in Sweden, this is a professional-grade, cast-metal sharpening system designed for the home. It delivers the flawless, razor-sharp edge geometry of a master bladesmith, but with the absolute simplicity of a pull-through gadget. No wobbly hands, no ruined heat treats, and zero quality compromise. It is exactly why it’s the only machine we officially endorse to maintain our Norvic Knives.
The Heavy-Duty Specs
Zero-Compromise Simplicity: You don't need to be a knifemaker to use it. Set the patented guide block exactly to your knife's factory angle (like our signature 15 degrees), rest the blade against the guide, and pull. You get a perfectly uniform, locked-in edge from the heel to the tip, every single time.
The Cold-Cut Diamond Wheel: Standard electric sharpeners run at screaming-fast speeds, generating friction that instantly overheats and ruins the temper of your steel. The T-1’s fine-grained diamond wheel runs at a slow, strictly controlled RPM. It cuts a fresh bevel in under 60 seconds completely cold, protecting the strict temper of your steel.
The Composite Honing Polish: The patented secondary wheel acts exactly like a workshop power strop. It features a built-in polishing abrasive that gently removes the wire burr left by the diamond stone, refining the apex into a smooth, frictionless mirror polish. No messy pastes or oils required.
The 8-Year Guarantee: This isn't a plastic kitchen gadget; it's a heavy-duty workshop tool built to sit proudly next to your Kamado grill. It features a fully cast zinc housing, a whisper-quiet industrial motor, and comes with a 5-year manufacturer warranty, automatically upgraded to 8 years when you register the device online.

Professional Knife Sharpening | Norwich
Restore Your Edge.
Don’t throw away your dull knives...let us bring them back to life.
At Norvic, we understand that a sharp knife is the most enjoyable tool in the kitchen by far. Whether it’s your daily "workhorse" vegetable chopper or a high end Japanese steel knife, we offer a professional, hand-finished sharpening service right here in Norwich.
We use the same professional grade equipment used to finish our own blades, ensuring your knives return to you sharper than the day you bought them.
Our Services
We offer two tiers of sharpening to suit your needs. Not sure which one you need? We can advise you when you drop them off.
1. The Standard Service | £7.00 per knife
Best for: German steel (Wusthof, Henckels, Victorinox), daily beaters, and fibrous chopping. We use a Work Sharp Elite system to create a durable "convex" edge. This provides a toothy, robust sharpness that lasts a long time and is perfect for heavy kitchen prep.
-
Finish: Satin / Utility Polish.
-
Result: Better-than-factory sharpness.
2. The Norvic Premium | £13.00 per knife
Best for: Japanese steel (Global, Shun, Miyabi), high-carbon blades, and gifts. The ultimate spa day for your knife. We use a Tormek T8 Water-Cooled system to grind a precision edge without overheating the steel, followed by a Refinement and Buffing process culminating in a 1-micron diamond hand strop to achieve extreme sharpness. We also apply oil to wood where needed, and can remove rust spots.
-
Finish: Flawless Mirror Polish*.
-
Result: "Scary sharp" hair-popping edge that glides through food effortlessly.
Repairs: Broken tips and deep chips can be fixed from +£5.00 per knife.
